I have practised the Li Family system of T’ai Chi Ch’uan for over 25 years. T’ai Chi Ch’uan translates as The Supreme Ultimate. It is both a fitness system and a living philosophy.
The benefits of regular practice of T’ai Chi Ch’uan are many;
Balance and co-ordination are improved, physically, mentally, emotionally and spirituality ;relaxation and concentration improve. The gentleness of the exercises ensures that the practitioner does not suffer any strains or other muscular injuries. Physical stamina, flexibility and suppleness are increased, T’ai Chi is a suitable exercise for everybody, whatever their age or state of health.
The slow movements of T’ai Chi ease the joints by increasing the circulation and releasing tension making this the perfect exercise for stabilising posture and preventing falls. It is practised throughout the world by people of all cultures, religions, lifestyles and beliefs.
A moving meditation, T,’ai Chi soothes and calms the nervous system, promoting a sense of inner peace and tranquillity.
I have been teaching classes for over 9 years within the Local community, Private sector, Retirement living, Age UK. I have also been asked to attend health awareness events within the local boroughs.
