Why indoor cycling remains the go-to workout for every body, every season.

September can feel like a time for a fresh start even for those of us who are not navigating a new school year. After holidays and less regimented days which might end with a drink in the garden instead of your usual workout it can feel good to get back into your weekly routine. Sometimes it means starting something new or in the case of spinning something old.
Spin or indoor cycling workouts have been popular for over twenty five years but why is that?
#1 It is a low impact exercise which can be great for those recovering from injury.
#2 Classes are completely inclusive, it’s your ride and no one can see your gears or how fast you are cycling (although spoiler alert instructors can take a pretty good guess!)
#3 It is great for anyone starting on a fitness journey or coming back to exercise, you can start slow and gradually increase resistance and speed as the weeks go on.
#4 You don’t need lots of time, classes usually range from 30 - 45 mins so you can more easily take some time early in the morning, at lunchtime or in the evening without taking time out of a busy day.
#5 Spin is really good at keeping you fit bringing your heart rate within the range needed to be effective.
#6 Finally, it is suitable for any age group too and a recent study has shown that it reduces pain in those with hip osteoarthritis and like other cardio activities helps long term brain protection, lowers blood pressure and with mental health benefits too it really is a great all round exercise.
Whether you're returning after a break or trying something new, spin is a simple, effective way to get moving again. The best part? You don’t have to do it alone, your fitness community is ready when you are. There’s no perfect time to start, just the time you decide to. September is the perfect moment to reset, refocus, and reconnect with movement. Spin gives you the space to do it your way. We’ll save you a bike.
